- Eno released a series of four "Ambient Music" albums from 1978-1982, and is credited with creating the phrase "ambient music". He has also worked with David Bowie, U2, and David Byrne of the Talking Heads, among others.
- A sequel album, Music For Films Vol. 2 was released in 1983.
- In 1995, he created The Microsoft Sound, the six-second intro when the Windows 95 operating system was started up. It was replaced by a different sound for Windows 98 in 1998.
