Traffic is an English rock band whose song "Glad" appeared in the episode "The Prodigal Son" of the show Miami Vice.

CareerEdit

Traffic was formed in 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. They released three albums between 1967-1969 and had success in the U.K., but not in the US, and the band broke up in 1969. Winwood formed the band Blind Faith (with Eric Clapton) but they quickly disbanded after one album and a brief tour. In 1970 Winwood began recording an album, John Barleycorn Must Die, was originally planned as a solo effort, but led to Traffic's reformation after Wood and Capaldi joined Winwood in the sessions. The band recorded another four albums between 1970 and 1974 before the band broke up again when Capaldi left for a solo career. Winwood also had a successful solo career, but they brought Traffic back together in 1994 for a tour with the Grateful Dead. Capaldi's death in 2005 prevented any further Traffic reunions, though the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
