  • The Magnificent Seven starred Yul Brenner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, Brad Drexter, and Horst Buchholz. As of 2016, only Vaughn is still alive.
  • The movie launched three sequels, as well as a short-lived TV series starring Ron Perlman from the third season episode "Walk-Alone".
  • Elmer Bernstein scored all three Magnificent Seven sequels, and his theme was used for the TV series. He scored the theme to the TV police drama The Rookies, three John Wayne movies: True Grit, McQ, and Cahill United States Marshal, and countless other TV shows and movies.
  • Studio musician Al Caiola recorded a version of the theme that reached #35 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1961.
