The Best of Miami Vice is a 1994 soundtrack album containing music from the television series Miami Vice. It is largely a compilation of tracks previously released on the show's soundtrack albums, containing a selection of popular and score music taken from the first four seasons of the show.
Notes[]
- This is one of no less than five Miami Vice soundtrack albums released with the title The Best of Miami Vice, with others released in 1989, 1996, 2004 and 2006.
- Despite their inclusion on the album, "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson and "Lover" by Roxy Music never actually appeared in Miami Vice. The latter two were, however, previously included on other Miami Vice soundtrack albums.
- Glenn Frey's "You Belong to the City" and Patti LaBelle & Bill Champlin's "The Last Unbroken Heart" were written exclusively for the show and have only ever appeared on Miami Vice soundtrack albums, although both were released as singles in 1985 and 1986, respectively.
