"Some Guys Have All The Luck" is a song performed by The Persuaders in 1973, recorded on their album Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me, and covered by Rod Stewart in 1984 on his album Camouflage. The song appeared in the Miami Vice episode "The Great McCarthy".

NotesEdit

  • The Persuaders were an early 1970s R&B group who only hit Billboard's Top 40 twice, the other hit was "Thin Line Between Love And Hate", covered by The Pretenders in 1984. "Some Guys..." was also covered by Maxi Priest in 1987.
  • The song was performed by a house band and not by Rod Stewart, whose version was the popular one at the time of this episode.
