Ronald N. Perlman (born April 13, 1950, New York, New York) is an American actor, who appeared as Commissioner of Prisons John Rugar, who enlists the help of Metro-Dade's Vice division to end a drug operation inside Bolton Prison in the episode "Walk-Alone" of the series Miami Vice.

CareerEdit

Perlman graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Master's in Fine Arts in 1973, then made his TV debut in the soap opera Ryan's Hope, followed by The Fall Guy before his first series, with Linda Hamilton in the cult classic Beauty and the Beast, which ran for three seasons (1987-90). After Beast was cancelled, he became a voice actor, appearing in the animated series' Bonkers, Batman, Animaniacs, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Mortal Kombat, The Tick, Teen Titans, Justice League, Kim Possible, and Star Wars: Clone Wars. He also appeared in the TV version of the classic western The Magnificent Seven, which ran two seasons (1998-2000). His most recent TV appearances are in the series Sons of Anarchy (with Kim Coates), which began in 2008, and in two episodes of the animated American Dad!.

His movie debut was in 1981's Quest For Fire, followed by appearances in The Ice Pirates (with John Matuszak), Sleepwalkers, Romeo Is Bleeding (with David Proval and Larry Joshua), Prince Valiant (with Walter Gotell), Alien: Resurrection (with Dan Hedaya), Star Trek: Nemesis, Hellboy and its' sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army (as the title character), Tangled, Drive, and his most recent film appearance, in 2012's Bad Ass (with Charles S. Dutton).

Personal LifeEdit

Perlman married his wife Opal in 1981, they have two children, Blake Amanda (born 1984) and Brandon Avery (born 1990).
