Paul Guilfoyle (born April 28, 1949, Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor, best known for his long-running role as Capt. Jim Brass in the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation from 2000-2014 (with Laurence Fishburne from 2008-2011). He appeared as Milton Glantz, porn director and painter in the episode "Death and the Lady", and John Baker, leader of the Neo-Nazi group "Patriot Brigade" in the episode "Victims of Circumstance".

Career[]

Guilfoyle began his career on the stage, spending 12 years with the Theatre Company in Boston. His first screen roles were in short stories and TV movies, then he made his movie debut in 1986's Howard the Duck, Beverly Hills Cop II (with Dean Stockwell, Three Men and a Baby, Wall Street, Cadillac Man (with Lori Petty), Hoffa (with John P. Ryan and Kevin Anderson), Mrs. Doubtfire, Quiz Show (with John Turturro), Ransom (with Evan Handler), L.A. Confidential (with Graham Beckel and David Strathairn), Amistad (with Tomas Milian), In Dreams (with Annette Bening), Random Hearts (with Charles S. Dutton and Richard Jenkins), American Violet, Spotlight (with Stanley Tucci), and Don't Look Up (with Ron Perlman, Michael Chiklis, and Robert Joy)

His TV career included roles in Crime Story (with Dennis Farina, Bill Smitrovich, and John Santucci), Spenser: For Hire (with Jay Patterson), The Equalizer (with Keith Szarabajka and Judith Malina), New York Undercover (with Michael DeLorenzo and Patti D'Arbanville), Ally McBeal, and his most recent pre-CSI role, Secret Agent Man. After CSI, Guilfoyle appeared in the TV series Colony, The Good Fight (with Sam McMurray), Star Trek: Discovery, and reprising his role as Jim Brass (now retired) in the first two episodes of the 2021 series sequel to the original CSI series, CSI: Vegas, and Can't Go Home (with Esai Morales)..
