Michael B. Hoggan co-wrote (along with Jaron Summers) the Miami Vice episode "French Twist", directed the episode "The Cell Within", and served as story editor for three episodes of the first season (including "Smuggler's Blues", for which he received an Emmy nomination), three episodes of the second season, six episodes of the third season, and five episodes of the fifth season, including two ("Freefall" and "Leap of Faith") that he served as associate producer.
As of 2016, Hoggan is a professor of film production at California State University-Northridge.
