  • At 55 years at the time of this episode, "Lazybones" is the oldest song to appear in Miami Vice, though Frank Hackman claims the song came out in 1945.
  • Johnny Mercer was a prolific songwriter as was Carmichael. The Savannah, Georgia native was immortalized in the book and movie Midnight In The Garden Of Good & Evil.
  • Carmichael appeared in the cartoon classic The Flintstones as "Stoney Carmichael".
