"Land Of Confusion" is a song performed by Genesis, recorded on the album Invisible Touch in 1986. The song appeared in the Miami Vice series finale "Freefall".

Notes

  • The video for this song (which lost the award for MTV Video of the Year to former bandmate Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer") features puppet caricatures (from the UK comedy show Spitting Image) of various political figures from the 1980s, including Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, the Ayatollah Khomeini, Mommamar Gaddafi, and Mikail Gorbachev, as well as stars in a "We Are The World" parody such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Hulk Hogan, Bette Midler and Phyllis Diller. Genesis is featured as well, with Phil Collins having two different puppets (one singing and one playing drums), one of Tony Banks with numerous keyboards, and Mike Rutherford playing a four-necked guitar (due to his playing both guitar and bass).
  • Phil Collins (as a solo act and with Genesis) is the only person to have had a song featured in the pilot "Brother's Keeper" and "Freefall", the series finale, as well as acted in an episode ("Phil the Shill").

Performers

  • Phil Collins - lead vocals & drums
  • Mike Rutherford - guitars, bass & backing vocals
  • Tony Banks - keyboards
