Louis Minor Carson (August 12, 1941 - October 20, 2014) was an American actor, writer, and producer known as L.M. Kit Carson, who made his only TV appearance as publisher Robert Phelps in the episode "The Cell Within" of the series Miami Vice.

Carson's acting career include appearances in the movies David Holtzman's Diary, Chinese Boxes (also wrote), Hurricane (also produced, with Shawn Elliott), CQ (with Dean Stockwell), and Hamlet in the Hamptons, and wrote the movies Breathless and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

Carson was married twice, once to actress Karen Black from 1975 until their 1983 divorce, they have one son, actor Hunter Carson (born 1975), then married Cynthia Hargrave in 1990 until Carson's death on October 20, 2014, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 73 from pneumonia.
