Julie Bovasso (June 1, 1930 - September 14, 1991) was an American actress, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Georgina,a bag lady who saw Jackie McSeiden go into a hotel room with a john who later turned up dead, and saw Cat leaving the room with one of the crayon drawings in the episode "Little Miss Dangerous".
Career[]
Bovasso was born in Brooklyn, New York. She appeared off-Broadway in the 1950s before transitioning to film and TV, making her first film appearance was in a 1958 soap opera, From These Roots, from which she was fired for a disagreement with the production team. She played in several other early TV dramas and returned to the theater before her film debut in 1977's Saturday Night Fever (with Val Bisoglio, Denny Dillon, and Monti Rock III) as Tony Manero's mom, Flo, and she reprised the role in the 1983 sequel Staying Alive, the only actor other than John Travolta to reprise their Fever role. Some of Bovasso's other movie appearances include The Verdict (with Bruce Willis), Daniel (with Amanda Plummer & Norman Parker), Off Beat (with Cleavant Derricks, John Turturro, Austin Pendleton & Penn Jillette), Wise Guys (with Capt. Lou Albano, Ray Sharkey, and Dan Hedaya), Moonstruck (where she was dialogue coach), Betsy's Wedding (with Burt Young), and her final film role, in Article 99.
On TV, Bovasso appeared in a number of TV movies, as well as the series Cagney & Lacey, and her last TV appearances in The Man in the Family (with Ray Sharkey).
Bovasso died on September 14, 1991, from cancer at the age of 61.
