John Soursby Glover, Jr. (born August 7, 1944, Kingston, New York) is an American actor, specializing in villainous roles, who appeared as electronics/surveillance expert Steve Duddy in the episode "Lend Me an Ear" of the series Miami Vice.


Glover has over 110 acting credits on his resume, beginning in 1973 in the movie Shamus (with Joe Santos, Beeson Carroll and Kevin Conway), followed by roles in Annie Hall, Julia (with Mark Metcalf), Last Embrace (with Jacqueline Brookes), The American Success Company (with Bianca Jagger), White Nights, Masquerade (written by Dick Wolf), Rocket Gibraltar (with Suzy Amis), Scrooged, Gremlins 2: The New Batch (with Keye Luke), Batman and Robin, and his most recent movie appearance, in 2005's The Civilization of Maxwell Bright (with Austin Pendleton and Keith Diamond).

His TV appearances began in 1975 with a role on the series Kojak, followed by roles in several series and TV movies, including The Face of Rage (with Graham Beckel, Keith Szarabajka, and Thomas G. Waites), An Early Frost (received an Emmy nomination, with Terry O'Quinn and Bill Paxton), The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, L. A. Law (received Emmy nomination, with Jimmy Smits), Homicide: Life on the Street (with Richard Belzer), Brimstone (with Lori Petty), and Law and Order: Criminal Intent (with Vincent D'Onofrio and Eric Bogosian) before his Emmy-nominated performance as Lionel Luthor in the series Smallville.
