  • The song was originally recorded by Sonny & Cher and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1965. Another version recorded by Etta James reached #69 in 1968, and a third by UB40 and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders reached #28 in 1985.
  • The Sheena Easton version has not appeared on any album or as a single, making it one of the few Miami Vice songs never to see a release in any form outside of the show.
