David Patrick Kelly (born January 23, 1951) is an American actor and musician, who appeared in the show Miami Vice as Jerry, one of the invaders in the episode "The Home Invaders".

CareerEdit

Kelly was born in Detroit, Michigan, one of seven siblings. He is skilled in martial arts, especially Tai Chi and Seido Karate, where he is a second degree Black Belt. He began his career in the mid-1970's performing in clubs, releasing an album of his club performances in 2008. He made his acting debut in the 1979 cult classic The Warriors, where he uttered the famous line "Warriors, come out to plaaayyyy!", then made his TV debut in an uncredited role in the TV movie Sanctuary of Fear. His other movie roles include 48 Hrs. (with Olivia Brown, Brion James, Sonny Landham, James Remar and Jack Thibeau), Dreamscape, Commando (with Dan Hedaya and Bill Paxton), Penn & Teller Get Killed (with Penn Jillette) and Teller), The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (with Sheila E. and Ed O'Neill), Malcolm X (with Lonette McKee), The Crow, The Longest Yard, Flags of our Fathers, and Jonah Hex. Some of his TV appearances include Moonlighting (with Bruce Willis), Twin Peaks (with Joan Chen), Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent (with Eric Bogosian), Gossip Girl, and his most recent TV appearance, in the cable series Bored to Death (with David Rasche).

Personal LifeEdit

Kelly married Juliana Francia, a playwright and theatre actress, in 2005. They have a daughter, Margrathe Jane (born 2008).
