Charles McCaughan is an American actor. He appeared in the show Miami Vice as Dale Gifford, accountant to Louis McCarthy (and informant to Crockett & Tubbs) in the episode "The Great McCarthy".
Career/Miami Vice[]
McCaughan made his acting debut in the 1980 film Jane Austen in Manhattan, then appeared in Heat and Dust and The Bostonians, later made his TV debut in the show Miami Vice as Dale Gifford, accountant and informant who is killed by a vengeful girlfriend in the episode "The Great McCarthy".

McCaughan appeared in the movies Hot Resort (with Samm-Art Williams), Quicksilver (with Laurence Fishburne), Slaves of New York (with Steve Buscemi), and V.I. Warshawski (with Jay O. Sanders), and in the TV shows Jake and the Fatman, Crime Story (with Dennis Farina), Matlock, and Silk Stalkings. His most recent performance was in Picture of Priority in 1998, which he also co-wrote and directed.
