"Can't Turn Back" is a song performed by Red Rider, recorded on the album Neruda in 1983. The song appeared in the Miami Vice episode "Tale of the Goat".

NotesEdit

  • The album Neruda was named for Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). He died of heart failure during the Pinochet coup (mentioned during the episode "Baseballs of Death") and his funeral was the first public protest of the new military dictatorship.
  • The CD version of the album Neruda includes a re-release of their song "Lunatic Fringe", used in "Smuggler's Blues".
  • The song has technically appeared in two episodes of Miami Vice -- problems with securing release rights for the Columbia House VHS tapes meant "Can't Turn Back" was used in "Calderone's Return (Part II)", in place of Russ Ballard's "Voices".

PerformersEdit

  • Tom Cochrane - lead vocals, guitar
  • Ken Greer - guitar, vocals
  • Rob Baker - drums
  • Jeff Jones - bass, vocals
  • Steve Sexton - keyboards/synthesizers
