Jerry De Louise (born April 30, 1940) is an American actor, better known by his stage name Burt Young. He appeared in the show Miami Vice as Lupo Ramirez, head of a call-girl operation in the episode "Give a Little, Take a Little".

Early Life/CareerEdit

Young was born in Queens, New York. After serving in the Marines during the late 1950s, he received his acting training under Lee Strasberg in the Actors Studio. He made his film debut in 1970's Carnival of Blood, followed by appearances in The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight (with Jack Kehoe), The Gambler (with Jacqueline Brookes), Chinatown, and Harry & Walter Go To New York. He made his TV debut in the movie The Connection, followed by appearances on M*A*S*H & The Rockford Files (with Joe Santos). In 1976, he received the role he would be most famous for, as Paulie, friend & eventual brother-in-law of Rocky Balboa in the Rocky movies (with Frank Stallone in four of them), his role in the first Rocky film earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He then appeared in the movies The Choirboys, Convoy, The Pope of Greenwich Village (with Kehoe), Back to School (with Keith Gordon), Betsy's Wedding (with Julie Bovasso), Blood Red (with Michael Madsen), and many other roles. On television, he has appeared in Law & Order (with Ned Eisenberg), The Equalizer, and Walker, Texas Ranger. His most recent TV appearance was in Law & Order: SVU, and his most recent movie appearance was in 2014's Zarra's Law.

Personal lifeEdit

Young was married to Gloria until her death in 1974, and has not remarried. He has a daughter, Anne Morea (b. 1969), and currently owns a restaurant in The Bronx, New York.
