Brian C. Smith made his acting debut in the show Miami Vice as D.A. Gordon Avery, present at Leon Mohammad's (played by Mykelti Williamson) preliminary hearing in the episode "Brother's Keeper".

His other credits include Cocoon: The Return (with Brian Dennehy, Harold Bergman and Darcy Shean), the 1989 TV movie The Road Raiders, and the 2003 straight-to-video Cheerleader Autopsy.
