Notes[]

  • The song has been covered by many artists, including Chris de Burgh, U2, Bryan Ferry, and Prince. Of all of these covers, the Jimi Hendrix version is the only one to have charted.
  • The Jimi Hendrix version appeared in Edward James Olmos' series Battlestar Galactica, used in the final scene of the series finale. A new rendition recorded especially for the show also appeared periodically throughout the final two seasons.
